Andersen Corporation Takes Action against Climate Change

Last month, our parent company, Andersen Corporation, has signed the Climate Declaration created by Ceres in 2013. Here’s why this bit of news is important.

Calling Businesses to Action
Ceres drafted the Climate Declaration with this goal in mind: to speed up the adoption of more sustainable business practices to combat climate change. For this to happen, they needed to gather support from America’s most trusted businesses. The idea is to get more businesses to turn to sustainable practices. Doing so can get us a step closer to achieving a healthier, greener global economy.

So far, over 1,000 companies have declared their support, including world-renowned brands such as Apple, Disney, Nestlé, and Nike. Andersen Corporation is the first major window and door company to give their signature to the campaign.

As a response to Ceres’s call to action, Andersen has also announced new corporate sustainability goals for the company and its subsidiaries. By 2020, we hope to have reduced our solid waste as well as energy and water use by 20% per unit of product. We are the first among window and door companies to declare and follow through with measurable sustainability goals in our operations.

Getting More Savings with Greener Windows
Renewal by Andersen® of Atlanta has long been upholding greener and sustainable practices. As experts in windows installation in Atlanta, we have replaced many inefficient windows over the years. We consider this a significant accomplishment: not many replacement window companies can claim to have helped improve air quality and increase energy savings in households as much as we have.

Our replacement units use Fibrex® frames with High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass packages. Fibrex is an excellent heat insulator, which means it can keep indoor temperatures at comfortable levels without stressing your HVAC systems.

Meanwhile, High-Performance Low-E4 glass is covered with multiple layers of low-emissivity (low-e) coatings that reflect heat back where it came from. This glass package is 45% more energy-efficient in winter (56% more in summer) compared to ordinary dual-pane glass. This can cut down your utility bills by 25%, depending on where you live.

We never forget our responsibility to the environment. Our exceptional replacement process complements our stellar units to maximize efficiency inside the home. Get in touch with us for more information on our environment-friendly services.
