An Overview of Renewal by Andersen®’s Glass Options

Here’s an overview of our different window replacement glass options:

High-Performance™ Low-E4® Glass

This option offers the best trade-off among thermal insulation, solar heat reflectivity, visible light transmission and UV defense. It has a U-Factor of 0.25, which meets the requirements of the North-Central Climate Zone. If you currently have ordinary dual-pane windows, choosing it would make your home 47% and 56% more energy-efficient in winter and summer respectively.

High-Performance Low-E4 Sun Glass

This option is the best windows replacement choice to minimize passive solar heating. It offers the same U-Factor and blocks the same amount of UV radiation as our standard glass while still letting the sunshine in.

High-Performance Low-E4 SmartSun™ Glass

With a U-Factor of 0.24, this is our best insulating glass. It reflects 95% of UV radiation that try to pass through it. Its impressive performance has virtually no effect on the color or clarity of most of the sunlight that it admits.

High-Performance Low-E4 SmartSun Glass with HeatLock® Technology™

To boost the insulating properties of our SmartSun glass, you can add HeatLock Technology coating to it. This additional layer of defense against thermal transfer helps trap more room-side radiant heat. If you choose this combination for your window replacement, your dual-pane glass will be almost as powerful and efficient as triple-pane glass.
