It’s Time for Home Improvement Projects Again

The U.S. Foreclosure Market Reports released by RealtyTrac recently showed that there was a 1% decrease in foreclosures in the month of March.  The numbers released on this report were also the lowest quarter foreclosure numbers since 2007; which is very good news for the housing market.

And with the news that foreclosures are decreasing, more and more homeowners are starting to consider home improvement projects again.  If you are one of them, but don’t quite know what home improvement project you want to embark on try something simple at first, like replacing your doors.

Patio Door Home Improvement Projects

With the warmer weather to be here soon, choosing to change your patio door as your first home remodel project in a while is a smart idea.  A new patio door can completely change the feel and the look of the back of your home as well as the patio itself.

There are so many different types of patio doors to choose from now that the most difficult thing about this project is being able to select which patio door you want.

You can select from:

  • ProVia patio doors
  • French doors on hinges
  • French doors that glide
  • Narroline gliding doors
  • Perma-Shield gliding doors
  • Fiberglass patio doors
  • Steel patio doors

If you thought that the list above was a lot, each of the doors on the list above also come in a variety of different colors and hardware to choose from.

So as you can see, changing out your patio door for a new look is actually very simple with all of the different choices you have available.

Front Door Home Improvement Projects

The other important door to your home that you might want to consider as a first home improvement project is your front door.  Just like the windows in the front of your home, it is one of things that stick out to people as they pass by or approach your home, so you want it to look good.

With your front door, you have just as many choices as you do with the patio door.  Front doors come in wood, fiberglass and steel to give you an option of what material will work best for you.  You also have the option of going with a full door, or having a piece of ornamental glass in it.  And of course you have your choice of many different colors.

In addition, if you are looking for ways to save on your power bill you can also go with an energy-efficient door.  These doors are specially built to be a secure barrier to keep the climatized air in your home and the unwanted heat or cold on the outside where it belongs.
