Leaves Falling in Your Cincinnati Windows

It’s time to decorate for the fall season and the upcoming Halloween holiday!

If you are looking for a simple way to decorate your windows, fall leaves are the way to go. They are easy to hang, there isn’t much to them, and you can make them either fun or elegant.

Fun Cincinnati Windows for Fall

With kids or grandkids in the house, having a fun fall window may be the way to go. That way the kids can help you with decorating the windows.

If you don’t mind decorating directly on your window, paint leaves on the glass for a season lasting decoration that you don’t have to worry about falling down. This is also a great way to go if you have playful pets, as it will remove any temptation from wanting to play with decorations that are dangling.

To create this decoration, purchase leaf-shaped sponges and paint that can be used on glass. It is very important to make sure that the paint can be used on glass as it will be difficult, if not impossible, to remove other paints from your Cincinnati windows at the end of the season.

Another fun leaf decoration you can create involves tracing paper, leaves, and crayons that are fall colors (red, orange, brown, and yellow). First, go outside and find leaves of all different shapes and sizes. Next, place one of the leaves under the tracing paper and rub the side of the crayons over the top of the paper where the leaf is. This will create an impression of the leaf in the paper. Finally, cut out  the rubbings and tape in your window.

When you are done, you will have beautiful leaves in your windows that will look like stained glass when the sun shines through them during the day.

Elegant Cincinnati Windows for Fall

If you are looking for a more elegant way to incorporate fall leaves in your fall window decorations, there are three things that you can do.

First, if you can have something hanging in your windows without having to worry about pets or children playing with them, hang glass leaves in you windows. Hang the leaves at varying heights and with clear fishing line, and then it will look like these jeweled leaves are falling in your windows.

Second, if you have curtains on your windows, find a pretty garland of fall colors or leaves, and use it as a tieback for your curtains.

Finally, find a fall swag and attach it to the top of your curtain rod, or just hang above your window. You can leave this as is, or you can add twigs and fall leaf garland to it to make it larger.

Regardless of which type of decorations you choose to go with, your windows will look much more cheerful this fall with any of these fall decoration adorning them.
