The Many Grille Patterns We Specialize In

Window grilles may now be structurally immaterial, but they remain aesthetically relevant. They don’t just remind us of the olden days, but they also accentuate the distinctive characteristic of traditional architectures.

As a do-it-all windows contractor, Renewal by Andersen® of Atlanta can create any imaginable grille design. We bring classic patterns back to life and come up with an original one tailored to your unique specifications. Here are our standard configurations:

Colonial

Our colonial grille pattern is reminiscent of the crisscross trademark of Georgian, Federal, Cape Cod, and other traditional home styles. It echoes symmetry, visually dividing the glass into equally sized lights. The old variation used in double-hung windows is the 12-over-12 design, but the six-over-six is more common these days.

Prairie

The namesake of its source architecture, our prairie grille design lines the sides of the glass. It forms a square box in each corner, leaving the middle part plain and uninterrupted. Since it’s more popularly used in casement replacement windows, utilizing it for double-hungs creates more lights due to the pair of sashes. To enjoy a larger glass area, we can do its modified version where the two sashes are treated like a single panel.

Farmhouse

The farmhouse grille style, in general, leaves the bottom half of the window, be it one- or two-sash, plain. It makes the window’s upper half divided by one or two vertical lines that meet a wide, horizontal rail. In other variations, the bottom portion mimics the look of the top.

Simulated Double-Hung

As an experienced windows company, we can disguise casement units as double-hung ones convincingly using grilles. This way, you could enjoy the casement’s ease of operation, ability to maximize wall openings, and efficiency without ruining your curb appeal.

At Renewal by Andersen of Atlanta, we specialize in different grille types to give you flexibility and make maintenance a breeze. We can install grilles in between the panes or install removable ones on the outside.
