    Once you have finalized your choice of replacement windows, settled on a start date, and signed the contract, one would think it’s just a matter of waiting for installation day to arrive. The truth is, there are some things you should to do prepare, which we compile in a convenient checklist.

    Know the Hours

    In addition to knowing the start dates and times, you should make it a point to know the duration of the installation process. This lets you manage your hours in case you won’t be present to oversee the installation itself, as well as set up temporary security codes with the security company. While most window replacement projects take about a day to finish, complicated or bigger projects take longer.

    Protect Your Valuables

    If you have anything valuable that’s situated near the windows, put them out of the the way at least a few days ahead prior to installation. This also goes for furniture that may get in the way. Our installation team takes every precaution to protect your property. Drop cloths and dust covers are put in place before the first replacement windows are taken from the truck.

    Clear the Work Areas

    In addition to protecting your valuables, you should remove window treatments and other decor located near the windows. Identify the access paths from the entry door to the window areas, which will be protected later. If street parking isn’t allowed in your area, designate a parking spot for the truck.

    Kids and Pets

    A window replacement project involves installers walking around with large glass panels, which means it’s not idea to have kids and pets running around. Have your kids or pets stay at relatives, or maybe take them to a lunch and a dinner while the installation team installs your new windows.
