Renewal by Andersen® of CT Window Style Guide, Part Two

(This post is the second installment of a two-part guide on window styles in Connecticut from Renewal by Andersen®. Here’s the link to part 1: <URL to Topic 1>)

The first part of this two-part guide discussed awning, bay and bow, and double hung windows. Now let’s discuss the other window styles you may want to consider for your replacement windows in Connecticut. These are: Gliding windows, Picture windows, and Casement Windows

Gliding Windows

This window style is somewhat similar to double hung windows. The difference is that the sashes of these windows move horizontally. This offers the kind of functionality and view that other window styles can’t offer.

RbA gliding windows are set on easy to maintain, durable tracks that make them easy to open. The window can be taken off the track easily for convenient cleaning and maintenance.

Picture Windows

If you want to enjoy the view of the countryside, picture windows are a great choice. The large panel of glass used for this window is what gives you the excellent view you can’t get from other windows. These windows give you a viewing area with a wide angle, which allows more natural light to get into your home.

Casement Windows

Casement windows offer a simple, compact and easy to operate design. Ideally, these windows are used in the tighter spaces of your home. Its compact design allows more light into these areas while not consuming too much space on the wall.
