Fall Window Treatment Additions

If you are one of those that believe that “simple is better” when it comes to your fall décor, then these next decorating ideas are for you.  Three simple ways to add small touches of fall to your normal everyday décor that will still preserve the look of your home, but will also add a small acknowledgment of the new season. They are extremely simple, can fit into any budget and will take you less than ten minutes to put up

Pumpkins on your Fall Window Treatments

Mini pumpkins are fun to use in the fall.  They are small enough that you can use them for almost anything, but they are also the ultimate symbol of the fall season.  With your window treatments, pumpkins can serve multiple functions.

Pumpkins can serve as curtain weights by being tied to the bottom corners of curtains.  Pumpkins can also be hung off the ends of your curtain rods as a simple decoration.

Lastly, you can make a simple fall curtain tie back with them.  Simply take a piece of twine and tie it to the stem of the pumpkin.  Then wrap the twine loosely around your curtain and tie a bow in the twine above the pumpkin when you come back around the front.  This particular tie back works best when the tie is being used with a hook on the side of the window.

Fall Branches

One of the easiest things you can do with your window treatments to add a touch of fall, is to use fall branches.  Fall branches can be real or fake, it really doesn’t matter.  All that matters is that the branch is brown and has fall leaves or fall berries on it.   A branch without either the leaves or berries just doesn’t have the same effect.

When you have decided on the fall branches you are going to use, simply tuck them into the tie back on your curtain.  Easy as that and you are done!

Fall Themed Window Treatment Tie Backs

Just like with the fall branches above, another simple fall window treatment idea is to use fall themed curtain tie backs.  These tie backs can be fall-themed material that you tie into a nice bow in the front.  You can also sew on snaps to attach the tie to itself if you don’t want to tie a bow.

Other great fall tie backs include acorn garland, wood cranberry garland, fall leaf ivy, and wire garland with fall colored glass on it.  Anything you can find in the craft store that works as a rope can be used as a tie back for your fall window treatment.
